Spoiled rotten and beyond exhaustion

We've made it through the first leg of our journey. I'm sitting in a luxurious 10th-story hotel room at the Grand Hyatt in Santiago de Chile. We're both exhausted. Didn't get much sleep (or dinner) on the 9-hour flight from Atlanta because of turbulence, despite the first-class treatment - champagne, wine, multi-course dinner, choice of desserts, personal service, comfy pillows and blankets, our own monitors with a multitude of TV channels, music, and movies, and an almost fully-reclining seat. Here's Dad (who's 6'2") before the flight:

We met several people on our flight from Atlanta who are on our cruise. We were all pretty happy to get to Santiago, a bustling and crowded Latin American city, and see our baggage arrive. After a 20-minute drive, we arrived "home":

This afternoon we're taking a bus tour of Santiago and then we have a cocktail reception this evening before dinner at the hotel. I'll be amazed if I last that long. We're up for a 5:30 departure from the hotel tomorrow morning to get back to the airport and fly to Ushuaia where we board the ship tomorrow evening. So...hope for decent Internet access on the ship and I'll continue to update from there!
